Am I the Only One (AITOO)
A woman in her thirties lives alone, well, not completely alone. She lives with her life-size doll and today is the doll’s birthday. This piece follows the woman as she prepares a special celebration, trying to make the best of an evening full of mishaps. Am I the Only One is a theatrical mash-up of clown, slapstick and the absurd, a journey to finding laughter in loneliness.

About Maarit+Kaitlin
Maarit+Kaitlin is a joyful and passionate artistic collab between Kaitlin Kaufman and Maarit Hara that started in NYC in 2018.
Kaitlin is a Lecoq-trained physical performer. She has clowned with the Big Apple Circus, Clowns without Borders and she's been working as a pediatric hospital clown for the past six years in NYC. In 2018, her full-length solo clown show, Yay America!, won the award of “Most Likely to Cause Whiplash over American Democracy” at Fringe PVD. Kaitlin is deeply fascinated by the clown’s ability to provide catharsis by revealing the poignant and hilarious truth of what it means to be human. IG: @kaitmankauflin
Maarit is an actor, theater maker, clown and improviser from Helsinki, Finland. She is skilled in both drama and comedy, having trained at East15 Acting School (London) and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (NYC). Maarit loves to laugh at the ridiculousness and tragedy of human beings (especially herself) and has been described as a fanatic by her clown teacher.
